Workshop: Silver Ring

In this small group workshop, you will be guided through the step-by-step process to create your very own silver ring for yourself or as a gift.

You will experiment with copper, creating a variety of textures using hammers and punches and learn how to make your practice ring. Using small pliers, a jewellery saw, hammers and files as well as a small blow torch to anneal and solder you will complete your copper ring. This will give you confidence using the same techniques to make your silver ring. You will be given a choice of what kind of finish you'd like for your silver ring e.g., polished, satinised or oxidised.

There will be plenty of one-to-one support throughout to enable you to produce a lovely unique ring that fits you.

The £65 fee includes the use of all tools, equipment, copper and silver you'll need for the workshop. "D" shape sterling silver wire: either: wire 3 x 2 mm or 2.3 x 1.5mm will be available to choose from.

This workshop is suitable for over 16s who are complete beginners.

Please wear closed toe shoes, tie long hair back and remember glasses for close up work. If you want to protect your clothes bring along an apron as it can get slightly dusty.
